Why I Started The Honeymoon Club: A UK Honeymoon Planner’s Story.

After nearly ten years working in the UK wedding industry, I saw first hand how much support couples need when planning such an important trip. That is exactly why I founded The Honeymoon Club, a boutique honeymoon planning service designed to bring wedding industry style care and attention into travel.
As a honeymoon planner and independent travel agent, my goal is simple. To help couples design thoughtful, bespoke honeymoons that feel just as special as their wedding day.
___________
So this is from me....
I have spent nearly ten years working in the UK wedding industry and during that time I have worked as a venue wedding coordinator, an event manager, a wedding planner, and I am also trained as a celebrant. Weddings have been my world for almost a decade, and during that time I have easily been part of more than one hundred weddings.
What I love most about working in weddings is the couples. Every wedding is different, every story is unique, and every couple has their own vision for how they want their day should feel. My role has always been about making that vision come to life.
That means listening carefully, understanding what really matters to the couple, and then bringing everything together so it feels seamless. It also means problem solving constantly! Things change, unexpected situations happen, and you learn quickly how to think on your feet and create solutions quietly behind the scenes so the couple never has to worry.
A New Chapter

Recently, my life changed in the best possible way when I became a mum to my daughter, Maggie, who will turn two in May.
During maternity leave I had time to reflect on how I wanted to continue working within the wedding industry. Summer weddings are intense. They involve long days, weekends, and a lot of time away from home. I realised that while I still loved weddings, I wanted to work in a way that allowed me to spend more time with my family while still delivering the high level of service my couples deserve.
So I made the decision to take on fewer weddings each year.
My focus became simple. Work with fewer couples but give them the best service I possibly can.
The moment that sparked The Honeymoon Club
The idea for The Honeymoon Club actually came about when I was trying to book my own honeymoon...... a very belated honeymoon, something we should have taken about six years earlier.
Naturally, because I love planning, I had already researched everything. I knew exactly where we wanted to go, which hotels we loved, and which flights made the most sense.
But when I went to a local travel agent, the experience just did not feel right.
They were not particularly responsive, and when they sent the proposal it included completely different hotels from the ones I had asked about. When I questioned it, I was simply told that my choices were not possible and that was the end of the conversation.
For the amount of money a honeymoon costs, the experience just did not feel good enough. I had done all the research and planning already. All I needed was someone to help bring it together properly.
It made me wonder where couples actually go for good honeymoon planning support.
Yes, there are premium luxury travel agents, but there seemed to be a real gap between ultra luxury services and traditional travel agents. I could not find anyone offering a truly personal planning experience that worked across different budgets.
And that is when the idea clicked.
Bringing wedding industry service into travel
After years in the wedding industry, I realised something important... wedding suppliers are experts in service. We are used to working closely with couples, listening carefully to what they want, adapting to their vision, solving problems, and guiding them through a huge life event.
Why should honeymoon planning feel any different?
So I trained as an independent travel agent and started mentioning it to the couples I was already working with. Their reactions were instant and I could literally see the relief on their faces.
Planning a wedding is already like having a second full time job. When couples realised someone they trusted could also help plan their honeymoon, it felt like one less thing to worry about.
And that is when I realised something bigger. There are so many couples out there who would benefit from this kind of support.
And so The Honeymoon Club was born

The Honeymoon Club was created to bring wedding industry style service into honeymoon planning.
We are honeymoon planners who help couples with every element of their trip, from the first ideas right through to the moment they return home.
Some couples come to us with no idea where they want to go. They just know they want somewhere special, somewhere beautiful, somewhere unforgettable.
Others arrive with detailed plans already in mind. Japan, island hopping, safaris, city stops.
Both are perfect.
Our job is to meet couples exactly where they are in the planning process and help shape the honeymoon around them.
We create the itinerary, help refine the ideas, manage the bookings, and remain a point of contact throughout the entire journey before, during, and after the honeymoon.
In a world where travel can sometimes feel uncertain, having one trusted person to turn to makes all the difference.
A collective of wedding industry experts
The Honeymoon Club has now grown beyond just me.
Every member of The Honeymoon Club also work within the wedding industry. They understand couples, they understand service, and they share the same passion for creating incredible travel experiences.
We are all independent travel agents, but we are united by one goal. Delivering the level of care and attention honeymoon planning truly deserves.
Our Philosophy
At The Honeymoon Club, our approach is simple. It is not about saying that something is not possible. It is about asking one question.....How do we make this work for you?
Whether it is balancing budget with dream destinations, finding creative flight routes, or building a once in a lifetime itinerary, we focus on making things happen for our couples.
And the best part is that there is no planning fee for our service. We simply want couples to benefit from our experience, knowledge, and passion for travel.
If you are planning your honeymoon

When you start thinking about your honeymoon, we would love you to think of The Honeymoon Club.
A boutique honeymoon agency inspired by wedding industry service, style led, travel obsessed, and dedicated to creating honeymoons that feel completely personal.
Because after all the planning that goes into your wedding day, your honeymoon deserves just as much care and attention.
