When to Go

Dec - Apr

Best overall: dry, sunny, ideal for Yucatán, Riviera Maya and Pacific Coast. Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) in early November is an incredible cultural experience if traveling slightly earlier.

 

May - Oct

Rainy season: expect showers and humidity, especially in the Yucatán and Pacific coast; northern regions hotter but drier. Guelaguetza festival in Oaxaca (July) celebrates traditional dance, music, and crafts.
